The land located at 520 Chestnut offers great San Francisco history. From 1900 to 1905, it held the two-story wood-frame home of Empire Malt House owner Joseph Schweitzer, who chose to live next door to his beer factory. The building burnt down in the 1906 fire and was never rebuilt.
