Marin

With many unique shopping opportunities, a rich history and creek-side location, San Anselmo has made a name for itself as one of the best communities in the area with an ideal climate. Across the Golden Gate Bridge, 20 miles north of San Francisco sits the town of San Anselmo, a total of 2.7 square miles with just three major roads intersecting at the central business district, a small town but loaded with character, charm and home to 12,000 residents. Great weather, access to trails for hiking and biking, and a vibrant downtown area makes San Anselmo a hidden treasure for Marin homebuyers. Small shops, antique boutiques, and restaurants line the main street of San Anselmo, including Insalata’s and Cucina Restaurant & Wine Bar, as well as the ever-popular Comfort’s and Marin Coffee Roasters. Neighborhoods include Sleepy Hollow, Brookside, Hawthorn e Hills, and Yolanda Park.

Sleepy Hollow

With many large, flat lots, this neighborhood showcases breathtaking homes that look like something out of the storybooks. Most of these homes are one -level ranchers, mixed in with a few grand estates with fabulous views. Surrounded by Marin County Open Space Land, residents of this area have easy access to hiking, biking and running trails. Sleepy Hollow is also the location of San Domenico School, an elite K-12 private school.

Brookside

The neighborhood bordering Morningside has a variety of Spanish stucco houses mixed with some cozy bungalow styles.

Hawthorne Hills

Comprised of Spanish homes and bungalows, with convenient access to downtown Fairfax, these hom es are generally priced at less than a million dollars. Because of this, they are some of the most sought after homes in San Anselmo. San Francisco Boulevard and Millennium Park are full of 1940s and 1950s homes, some updated with modern touches and others have been left untouched. The close proximity to the Red Hill Shopping Center and Memorial Park make this neighborhood a favorite among locals.

Yolanda Park

Comprised of many large homes, this neighborhood has the perfect location for families with high school children. Although many homes in this neighborhood are close together, the homes in Downtown San Anselmo of Barber/Lincoln Park are vintage, charming and right next to the restaurants and shops of the lively San Anselmo Avenue. The neighborhoods surrounding the Seminary include some of the higher-priced homes in San Anselmo but offer close distance to schools and downtown with beautiful hillside scenery.
